September 2021

The important cause that we chose for the month of September was disaster relief. Living in FL, being no strangers to hurricanes, and even more recently the unfortunate condo collapse in Surfside, we’re very cognizant of the importance of timely disaster relief. Below, we have listed our top 3 disaster relief non-profit charities for you to choose from.

Mercy Chefs https://mercychefs.com/

“Our mission: Just Go Feed People.” I (Maja-3 Mavins’ owner) actually learned about Mercy Chefs and the wonderful work they do first hand. I volunteered with them after the building collapse in Surfside and got to see how hard they work and the impact they made providing hot meals to all the men and women working around the clock to retrieve and recover those impacted by the disaster. To date, they have served over 18.5 million meals in response to natural disasters, national emergencies and ongoing community outreach!

American Red Cross https://www.redcross.org/

”We bring shelter, food and comfort to those affected by disasters, large and small. We collect lifesaving donated blood and supply it to patients in need. We provide support to our men and women in military bases around the world, and to the families they leave behind. We train communities in CPR, first aid and other skills that save lives. And we assist our neighbors abroad with critical disaster response, preparedness and disease prevention efforts.” https://www.charitynavigator.org/

Mobile Medical Disaster Relief Inc. https://livebeyond.org/

“A Christian humanitarian organization whose purpose is to provide medical disaster relief, basic needs (such as food and water), and microfinance assistance in parts of the world which have suffered severe infrastructure damage. we are an organization that chooses to live beyond...ourselves, our culture, our borders, and this life so that others can live beyond...disease, hunger, poverty and despair.” https://www.charitynavigator.org/
